PRODUCT STATUS · JULY 14, 2026

The build is real. The release is not ready yet.

Forge is a pre-release native macOS application. This page separates implemented foundations, active validation and planned connections so the public roadmap never reads like a finished feature list.

CURRENT FOUNDATION

What exists today

Built foundation

Workflow and safety core

Core workflow contracts, configuration, event history, verified-copy and recovery foundations exist and have passing disposable test evidence.

Development build

Native SwiftUI application

The macOS interface and dashboard exist as a native development build. Xcode packaging, signing and release verification are still ahead.

Approved product model

Forge Flow

Easy Setup, global defaults, project overrides and portable workflow logic define how Ingest, Cull, Edit and Deliver fit together.

RELEASE GATES

What must be proven before download

These are validation gates, not a public release schedule.

01

Real-card ingest validation

Prove source detection, verified copy, duplicate protection, recovery and safe ejection across representative cards and devices.

IN DEVELOPMENT
02

Native culling

Complete photo and mixed photo/video review while keeping selection state internal and source metadata unchanged.

IN DEVELOPMENT
03

Editor handoff

Finish Lightroom Classic handoff, catalog validation and result reconciliation without treating a pending editor action as success.

IN DEVELOPMENT
04

Delivery sessions

Finish the persistent Deliver workspace, per-destination tabs, retries, remote verification and delivery history.

IN DEVELOPMENT
05

Production integrations

Complete provider authorization and reliability work for DVIDS, Google Drive and the broader connection roadmap.

IN DEVELOPMENT
06

Packaged release

Pass application health checks, signing, notarization and end-to-end release testing before public download.

IN DEVELOPMENT

RELEASE PRINCIPLE

Safety features are part of the core, not optional polish.

Transfer verification, no-overwrite behavior, source preservation, duplicate protection and recovery must remain intact as Forge moves through packaging and integration work.
